Happy T-day from Sully Shih Tzu

Hello Everyone,

Happy Thanksgiving Day and what a day it was in Sully Shih Tzu land. The weather was perfect, we got to go for a walk as did half the city it seemed like. We met some new friends on the trail, the scenery was gorgeous, mom and pop were home all day. We even got to eat Turkey with our other meal today.

We are watching football right now as out Denver Broncos are playing. Lena and I even played a little football in the hall way today. I really got after her when she tried to take the ball away from me when pop threw it down the hallway. We can really get down and when I get on her like that, she backs down. Most of the other times she really thinks she is a tough little cookie but when it comes to my football, don't mess with me Lena. That has been my ball for 4 years now. You can chase it with me, but at the end, it is mine.

Look, there are people on the trail today

sullycooldog20

Let's catch up to them pop

sullycooldog21

Hurry

sullycooldog22

Wow, another group just ahead, I hope Lena keeps her cool - ( The answer was no she didn't)

sullycooldog23

Top of the trail, a shot of the city today, clear 65 degrees

Sully Shih Tzu Has a New Friend

Hello Everyone,

Wow, here we go again. Lena and I now have a new friend in the house. His name is Simon and he is a parakeet and since this is basically my domain (I give Lena a some territory, but at my choosing), I have to check out what this is all about.

I almost forgot Tiel when he passed away in April, but this is bringing back memories. Those were good memories and Tiel was pretty cool since he could talk, whistle and sing, but this guy can only chirp. He is also smaller than Tiel was but that is OK. He is pretty quiet so far, but I am sue he will get going before too long once he gets comfortable in the house.

I am curious, what did Mom bring home?

sullycooldog16

Getting the courage to take a peek

sullycooldog15

Do I have permission to look? ( As if I ask permission for anything )

sullycooldog14

OK, Got a look but keeping my distance

sullycooldog12

Now I am making friends with Simon - He is a Keeper!!!

sullycooldog12

OK, a new member, welcome Simon, you will love it here.

See you all later

Sully Shih Tzu Loves the Walks

Hello Everyone,

We just went out for our daily walk. So far, other than the 2 snow storms we have had in the last 4 weeks, the weather has been beautiful and we have been able to take walks almost daily.

It is important for us to get out or we get cabin fever staying in all day. Once we get done with our mile long (sometimes longer) walk, get back into the house and usually we wrestle around for a little bit, but then we are out for a long nap. I think that is why pop always takes us out. He is able to get some time to himself once we are asleep.

Halloween was not really all that busy this year. Pop finally figured out that the neighborhood was growing up and the little kids that used to be here are all married or going to college now. He bought enough candy for 5 years worth of trick or treaters.

It was a good thing that there weren't as many kids because I didn't have to go crazy barking at everyone that rang the door bell. That does get old, but I must do my Shih Tzu duties and guard the house.

Oh well, here are some of the pics from today's walk

Off to the walk, looks kind of cold doesn't it

Lena, lets go forward, why you always tangling us up?

That's better, stay focused

Oh oh, Someone else has been here

Getting to the top, looking back at the city and mountains

Love the view of the city

Nice day for mountain view also

Trouble down below

Stay down there in the valley

That's good, you go on the road, we are going back home

Now it is time for about a 2 hour nap by the fireplace.

See you next time

Love ya,

Sully Shih Tzu Day After the Storm

Hello Everyone,

It is sure nice that the sun is coming out again. It is amazing how warm the sun felt yesterday and it was just over 45 degrees. Today 58 degrees. Can't wait.

It will be nice when we can get back out on the trail and do our walk again. In this neighborhood we had 27" of snow, so if you hear that Denver only got 14", that is in the city. All these areas away from the city got between 2 and 3 feet of the stuff.

I am sure glad that pop takes the time to clear some trails in the back yard. We have our own maze and it is fun when Lena and I start to chase each other. Sometimes we lose sight of each other when we start running and we get confused. I go back to find her and here she comes around the corner like a freight train. I will tell you, when she smacks into you, you can feel it.
Below are some pics of the back yard and what we have to put up with for a while.

Take care and Love to all,

Sully and Lena

Will it Ever Stop Snowing?

Hello again

I hope everyone is doing great.

This has certainly been quite a storm that we have had here on the Front Range in Denver Colorado.

I think as of about 15 minutes ago ( 7:30pm ) the snow has finally slowed down to almost nothing. I am sure glad that pop is able to get the yard shoveled enough for Lena and I to do our business. We went out there yesterday when it was about 10" before pop could get home and it looked like we were treading water in a pool. Not a bad idea because it would sure be much warmer than it is now. This is rough.

I wanted to share some pics that might put into perspective how much we had here. Just go up West of here about 10 miles and this is doubled.

The good news is that it will be about 50 degrees on Saturday and up to 65 on Tuesday. It doesn't stay this way for long here.

Once again, the TV dish is blocked with snow and Ice so Pop can't watch the World Series again. What are you now pop, about 100 yrs old. How many have you watched in your day big guy? I think you can spend your time with me and Lena tonight.

Hope you like the pics

Love to All

Sully Shih Tzu Winter is Here

Hello Everyone,

Well, it has been awhile hasn't it? I have all the excuses in the world as to why I haven't posted my activities since August.
Let's see, the computer crashed, pop has been very busy, still miss my friend Buddy, and I am sure many other reasons.

We have gone from Summer, see the pics in the last post, to now a quick Winter before Halloween, then back to nice fall like weather in a couple of days.

As you can see from the top picture, Pop is being totally unconventional again. Since the weather has affected the TV dish on the roof and he can't get to it, he isn't able to watch the world series game tonight, (well, he is watching it, but it comes and goes with the bad signal) and he also has a hard time watching the Nuggets home opener, so what does he do? He decides he is going to go outside and light the Tiki torches in the snow and imagine that he is in Hawaii or something like that.

I am so glad that I am a dog and can just sit with pop while he does these things and I am just happy to be hanging with him. I don't have to visualize anything, I just live in the moment and am happy wherever I am ( most of the time ).

The second and third pictures below, is where I really have my fun. Mom found our Juicy Couture stuffed bone and what I am doing in the pictures is tantalizing Lena by keeping the bone in my control. At first she has some hope I might share it, but then you see, I finally wear her out and she just succumbs and decides to just watch me and finally she goes to sleep. Yes, I still Rule

October 28th and he we go again, Summer two days ago, Winter today. 20 plus inches.

Lena has hope she will get her Juicy Couture bone back

Wow she gave up quick

Talk to you later,

Love to All

Sully Shih Tzu's Summer Vacation

Hello everyone,

I wanted to post some of the pictures from the vacation I took with the family last week to the Seattle / Tacoma area. I had a fun time meeting new people and getting to hang out with Lena's mom, Cousin Teddy, didn't care alot for Bernice, she was too big for me, and I met Lena's brother who lives next door. His name is Carlos.

We spent a week there and other than the airport where I had to be in the kennel and made a complete fool of myself before I got on the plane, I had a super good time.

Being by the lake and seeing all the new things was really cool. I am back home now and back to a regular routine.

Here are the pictures, I will talk more about my vacation in a couple days

Something Strange is Happening in Sully Shih Tzu Land Today

Hello Everyone,

First time I have talked to you since my best dog friend Buddy passed away. I will say that I still miss him and always will. Lena and I are living with his memory always in us.

Recap of Tuesday Aug 11th --

Ok so now on to the strange stuff happening around here.

Monday night or should I say Tuesday morning, we don’t go to bed until after midnight.
What is with the suitcases and the kennels in the hallway?

Then pop gets us up at 3am today. Some noise woke us, I guess it is an alarm clock which I don’t hear here very often. Scared me and Lena, I mean, come on now, we were in a sound sleep.

We take a walk at 3:30 am – this is very strange. No cars, no other dogs, just a very nice calm, no wind comfortable early morning. This is kind of cool because we have it all to ourselves. Well, almost. There was a house that has a dog that stays outside and he heard us thru the fence and he started barking. I am very sure the neighbors (not our nearby neighbors) enjoyed that. At least this time they can’t blame us since we were only provoking him and not doing the barking.

Pops friend comes over at 5am – now it is really getting strange – so I express myself which I do often when something dangerous is happening. I think maybe I am a little more dramatic than I need to be, but at least I get the attention. Since expressing myself doesn’t smell too good, pop has to give me a quick Butt Bath. That is what he calls it. He tells his friend thanks for coming over a few minutes early because he figured I would do this. I don’t know why I do it because it is not like the first time he has come over. I just don’t remember back far enough to realize he is a friend.

We then go for a ride and end up at a big building and Lena and I get put in our kennels.
This has never happened before.

Mom feeds me some cheese with something in it, but I am not buying it. Can’t calm me down.

Mom and Pop are standing at a counter (I am told that it is a check in counter, but for what?) and I am in my kennel – I want out, I am used to being with my pop not in this kennel. I don’t feel so cool right now. I am really nervous and kind of scared. This is different from the groomers or even the prison (actually the boarding place, I am being kind of hard on them calling it a prison) that I wrote about last time mom and pop took a trip.
We go to some other room and pop takes me out of the kennel and they put some wand on me and look at my kennel. I am so confused.

Lena and I both go down an elevator and now we aren’t with mom and pop anymore.
At 8:30 our time, we start moving and then a big loud thunder type noise is happening. Most of our thunder storms have noises that only last a few seconds. This one lasts for about 2 minutes and then it feels like we are floating. Wow – this is really weird. Where are mom and pop?
Ok this floating goes on for about 2 hours and it is kind of neat. I can actually relax for a bit and take a nap. All of a sudden it gets a little bit noisy again and it feels like he hit some big rocks or a rough road like when pop takes me for a ride. Then we stop and now there is daylight again, but the air feels different. Where are we?????

We come into the daylight and on some type of vehicle that moves us to another building. Then we are set down and we see people walking by us. I am at the front of the kennel trying to look out and then all of a sudden I see MOM. Oh Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this time I don’t care where we are, just let me see MOM and wow, I see POP too!!!!! Yipee!!!!!!!

Mom and Pop put us on a cart and then we go outside where we see cars and trucks again. Pop takes me out of the kennel and I give him a hug and start licking his face. I am so glad that I am with him and mom again.

We then get into a truck with Mom’s daughter and son in law and Lena’s Mom Ella. We drive for about an hour in this area where everything is green. Is this OZ I ask myself, as if I really even know where Oz is. Was that a tornado that hit us last night? How did we get here??? Doesn’t really matter to me, I am with Mom, Pop, and Lena and all is cool.

Until we get to this really nice big house. Oh, oh, there are 2 more dogs there. One is 4 months old and bigger than my old friend Buddy. I remember Lena when she was 4 months old, but she was a little punk, this is a little bit bigger dog. Will I have to run for my life again???

I will keep you posted.

Lena, Lets check this strange place out

I think I will hang out here

Nice View

This is a very different place, must be Oz

Should I?

Bye for now!!!
