Sully Can't Get Over His Bird Toy

Hello everyone,

Today I have to tell you about my Bird toy. Mom brought home a toy that when you rub your hands together, the warmth from your hands causes the bird to chirp. Well, of course my big brother Buddy had to get way to rough with it and he chewed it and cracked it. I was able to play with it for most of today but just a little while ago, mom decided it was getting too dangerous with the cracked plastic and she was afraid I was going to get hurt chewing on it.

Now I don't quite understand all the fuss, but she had to take it away and she put it on the counter. I must have sat there and looked up at that counter for 30 minutes and she picked me up to show me that it wasn't there anymore. It didn't matter, that was my little bird buddy that I slept with for the last 2 nights. Kind of my security blanket type of a thing.

Anyway, I think Pop took it out to the garbage because I heard a chirp from the bag when he took the garbage out. They are also trying to get my mind on something else so I will forget it.

I wouldn't have written this but Mom and Pop both said that this night will probably be like the nights when Buddy and I get a steak bone and then we are up half the night because we think the other one of us is going to get the others bone. They think I am going to drive them nuts by worrying all night about the bird.

Well, I got news for them. Since they took it away, for safety or not, I am going to make this one of those nights. I always win.

I will let you know what happens in a few days.

Good night

Sully and Buddy Freak Out

Hello Everyone

OK, Yes I probably got a little cabin fever since this was another snowy year for us and I just don't really like to hang outside when the ground is white and cold. I guess I must have been seeing things when I wanted to attack what I thought was Charlie the squirrel in the window. Once I started barking, of course Buddy had to come running and add to it. Then Mom come around to see what all he fuss was and she just busted out laughing. Well Buddy and I couldn't figure out why she was laughing so hard and long but once we settled down and looked at what was really in the window, we got embarrassed and decided to go into another room and sleep it off. Anyway, I like to share everything, so look below and you can see what we thought was a squirrel, or at least we wanted it to be.

Sully Shih Tzu and Fake Squirrel

Ok,now you have had your laugh, it was funny.

When we woke up this morning, of course there was snow, but most of it was gone by 2 pm.

We had a good Easter today. Mom and Pop were home almost all day, so we were able to just relax and have a good day. Pop took us on a couple of walks and we covered about 1 1/2 miles. Now, I am not a mathematician, but if pop weighs about 20 times what I do and we go about 1 1/2 miles, does that mean that his really easy 1 1/2 miles is the same as putting me through a marathon of over 20 miles based on our size difference? I wonder if he ever thinks about that. No wonder, I run from him sometimes when I see the walk leash coming my way. Once I see Buddy going with pop because he loves to walk (but he is 2 times bigger than me),I have to go. No way I can let Buddy show me up.

Well, it is time for me to rest since I am tired.

I will write again soon.

Sully Shih Tzu and Buddy in March

Hello Everyone,

Once again it has been a long time since I have posted anything in this blog.

On March 2nd, we wanted to go for a walk before pop went to work for the day, like the one we went on a few days earlier. You can see it was nice then.

But, when we got up Sunday morning, once again the slight snow flurries that were predicted, now became a full winter storm as pictured below.

Sully Shih Tzu Snow

So, Buddy and I said to each other, lets just take it easy today so we went to sleep on the bench by the front window and took the day off.

Anyway, we have spent the winter inside alot, we have had all our shots and we are healthy and ready for spring and summer. The weather is starting to get nice and we get to spend alot more time outside and pop takes us for walks almost daily now. But we still get snow as I will show you tomorrow when we wake up. Believe it or not, It is snowing right now, the night before Easter.

Sully Shih Tzu Says - Lets Play Baseball

Hello everyone,

We are just lounging around today as the weather is starting to get better. Even though it looks nice, and we are lounging in the sun in the backyard, it is still 38 degrees out, but when there is no wind here, it feels like 60.

That is why I titled this entry - Let's Play Baseball. We are getting closer to the spring, and it is one of my favorite times of the year. Pop takes me to the batting cages and I get to watch him hit the ball. I really like that time. I sit in the truck with the window open, mom is there reading a book and watching and I get to see all the people.

But for now, as you can see, we are lounging around, but then when we get off our chairs and finish our Mai Tai's, we get to the grass and you can see it is still Winter.

Oh well, it is coming soon.

Can't Wait!

Happy New Years from Sully and Buddy

Hello and Happy New Years Eve.

This has been a crazy year for me. I lost a Sister ( Chanel) and gained a brother ( Buddy).

I have been teaching Buddy the ropes around here for 9 months now and he is really starting to learn how to get his way with Mom and Pop. I am the master of this technique, probably because I am so cute and lovable. I can't wait for this Friday when the weather is supposed to get back to normal. I will take the 50's with the sun and then we can start going on our walks again. Even with the last few weeks, it is much better than last year with the blizzard and 7 Friday's in a row with snow.

This is the scene from yesterday and today around here and also we were looking at the squirrel outside the yard. That really gets us going when Charlie ( the squirrel) starts infringing on our yard.

Now our back yard looks like this

We love it, because it is usually so nice here. No complaints, well except when we want to do our business.

Sully Shih Tzu Christmas 2007

Hello again,

This was our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
As you can see from the pictures that Christmas Eve started out very serene. Nice pictures of the Front Range in the morning and then a nice sunset in the eve of Christmas with a weather forecast of cold and only a few flurries.
Then we had Christmas morning and we got our presents. Buddy was at the Humane Society as his previous owners had dropped him off there a few days before Christmas and the poor guy got neutered on Christmas Day. This was a much better Christmas for him.
Then, we had the few snow flurries that totaled 10". Wow, did they miss that one.
Oh well, we had a White Christmas, only the 14th one in the last 100 years. It also wasn't as bad as last year when we had the big blizzard which you can see the results on that in the archives of this blog.

Hopefully everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Bye for now

Sully and my Brother Buddy

Sully Shih Tzu Dec 23rd 2007

Hello everyone,

Again, it has taken me a while to write and let you know what is happening. We have been very busy during the holiday season and just haven't taken the time to keep up to date. It is starting to wind down now and we are starting to get cabin fever. We have had alot of cold snowy weather in the last few weeks but it looks like it will start warming up this coming week. Good, Pop can take us out for a walk again. All we have been doing is sleeping lately. Sometimes we wrestle. I have some pics of Dec 23rd in the morning. I was looking for buried treasures in the snow ( I hide stuff from Buddy, but then I don't realize that I might not find it if it snows. I was looking for the treats and after about 10 minutes I found them. Also, some pics of the mountains that morning before our Christmas day snow.

Sully Shih Tzu and Buddy Wish You a Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving,

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

It is cold here today. Finally feels like winter may be coming around. It was 9 degrees last night.
We sure had a good Thanksgiving dinner today. Mom and Pop always include Buddy and Me in the festivities.

We went on walks, ate alot of food and took naps today.
Well, I didn't go on the first walk because as you can see on the thermometer that it was about 22 degrees. Pop took Buddy ( Nickname now is Zamboni - He is built like a Zamboni Machine ) because he can handle a little bit of cold and I don't really like to be in it for very long.

I watched them leave the house and waited for them to come back. They made it just fine so I decided to be a little tougher and I went with them on the second walk about 3pm. It was 28 degrees, but I have been on walks where it was 45 degrees and felt like below zero. There was no wind and the sun was out so it felt really good.

After we walk in the brisk cold, we always take a nap.

Below are pictures of today.

See Ya Later and Have a Happy Holiday Season.

cool especially when they get some snow on them. That is coming soon.

This is a view we get when we get to the top of the trail. We go there almost every day. Pop really likes this view of the city.

Sully Shih Tzu in October

Hello Again,

Here we are on a beautiful 86 degree Saturday afternoon watching Mom and Pop trimming some trees because it looks like summer is over and they want to get ready for any storms that we have. Did I mention that today was 86 degrees? Sunday's high temp is to be 58 degrees and possibly a little snow flurry here and there in the morning. That is Colorado for you. Pop must be getting smarter because he is trying to trim the trees so they don't break like they did 2 years ago.

Buddy Chilling out for a little bit

Some of the work being done

The next 5 pictures are of me as it should be.

This the work that Mom and Pop are doing. We get to watch and sometimes I supervise pop. It is so cool because I get to lay back and he and mom do the work. Ah, A Dogs Life.

Well, that pretty much what we did today. Hopefully it won't snow for a little while yet.

See you later,

Sully

Sully Shih Tzu and Pops Birthday

Hello again,

Well this clever Shih Tzu and his Brother Buddy did a really neat thing for pop today on his birthday. Pop likes to go to the batting cages allot and we usually go with him and mom and we watch him from the truck. We have car seats that lets us be up high on the back seat of the truck and we can see pop real good. Buddy and I wanted to do something really cool for him on his birthday so we got with mom and asked her how we could make some money to give to pop so he could get some more tokens and hit at the cages. Mom came up with the idea that if we did some tricks around the house and kept her amused while pop was in Chicago (lucky guy, he got to go to a Cubs game on Tuesday night)

for the week, she would give us some money to get a card and give pop some cash so we could go with him again before the cages shut down for the winter.

It was really cool, Buddy and I did allot of tricks, kept mom amused and she helped us with the b-day card. She helped us write a note to pop on how we made the money and what it was for. Pop loved the card and we will go to the cages a couple times this week before they shut down.

I am going to miss it when this winter rolls around and the batting cages are shut down. I know pop will figure out something else for us to do that will let us go out and get away for a little bit a few nights a week.

Well, I have to go now so I will write again soon.

Bye
